My naam is Jane. Ek kom van Jupiter – the planet of cognition and higher learning. Ek voed op inligting en idees, maar niks proe so lekker soos ’n nuwe teks op my ma se kombuisvloer nie. ’n Sappige tamatie waarin ek my tande kan sink. Sink of swem: dit was my motto op stel vir The Girl From St. Agnes - my mees onlangse toneelspelervaring, my eerste filmrol. Wat ’n avontuur! Ek is altyd honger vir novelty - ’n nuwe uitdaging, ’n nuwe ervaring. En tog, tussen danskontrakte, teaters en filmstelle, bevind ek myself altyd terug in my ma se kombuis; ’n glas wyn in die hand, ’n kers wat brand en ’n hand wat knoffel kap op die tempo van Yellow Submarine. Daar’s nog baie om te leer, maar dít weet ek reeds: Seisoene mag kom en gaan, maar my ma se liefde bly staan.

Behind the characters I play I trust you'll find an inquisitive mind with a tenacity for life and the kaleidoscope of opportunities it presents. In recent years I've tried to yield to the universal powers that be and allow for serendipity in the workplace and in my personal life.
Over the course of my career and creative life I've strived to really embrace the “never say never" mind-set and pushed myself to do the things that scare me most.
2018 saw me on stage in the critically acclaimed two-hander #OleannaSA (Fugard) as well as a lead in my second international feature film #DeadInTheWater for the Syfy Channel. I've played an array of characters from Sleeping Beauty (#SleepingBeautyPanto) to an assassin, a nun, cave-woman (Origins: The Journey of Mankind), high-school bully (#Vaselintjie) an American fairy-god sister (#ACinderellaStory: If The Shoe Fits) and most recently as a horse-riding, young woman on the journey to self-discovery in #Flatland, a local feature premiering at the 69th Berlinale International Film Festival. I'm fully aware how rare it is to be able to fully express yourself and the lives of the characters you step into across such varied platforms.
I’m enveloped in gratitude when I realise what is possible when you follow your heart, work with integrity and cultivate healthy, empowering relationships.

Die mens geskep op ’n aand van jolyt deur wyle Christiena en Andries Visman. Hulle kaskenades en eksplisiete speletjies het gelui tot die agtste kind van Christiena en dertiende kind van Andries.
Na Christiena se sewende kind, vierde seun, het sy gehoop dat Andries al impotent sou wees. Gegewe die feit dat hy al laat veertigs was in 1982.
Daarom het Christiena hom toegelaat om haar kaaskoek met ’n ysterhand te eet.
Dit het ’n noodlottige uitwerking gehad op hul laer-klas leefstyl toe Riaan Narshall Visman in 1983 sy verskyning maak, uit Christiena se middel veertig jarige moederskoot.
Ses jaar na haar sewende kind en vierde seun.
Wie sou kon dink dat Andries, die Tiran, ’n soldaat van menslikheid en dienaar van die mens, met kuns as wapen tot lewe kon roep?
Ek is die soldaat wat kuns as ammunisie gebruik in die naam van geregtigheid.

My most exciting and challenging work to date has been Jaco Bouwer’s short film this country is lonely, playing the iconic (and intimidating) Alex Forrest in the stage adaption of Fatal Attraction, Chloe in STILL (which was taken to the Hollywood Fringe Festival and won an award, yay!), Leda and The Virgin Mary in #Renaissance (dir. Wessel Pretorius), my debut feature film as the comical supporting lead in Warner Brothers’ A Cinderella Story: If the Shoe Fits, Nun in The White Whore and the Bit Player (dir. Chris Weare) and Marshini in #MARSHA : an original, satirical comedy about an extra-terrestrial cult which I created with a fellow actor.

Ek leer tans om beter te luister. Wanneer jy wérklik luister, kan ’n gesprek soms langer duur. En ja, dit kan tydrowend wees, maar dis die enigste manier wat mens regtig kan verstaan wat die ander persoon sê. En dus is dit die enigste manier wat mens tot nuwe insigte kan kom, en wat vir my ’n gesprek die moeite werd maak.
My psigiese verskuiwings en emosionele groei vind plaas in die stil oomblikke nadat die lewe haar kinkels my kant toe gestuur het.
